2. Teide Via Los Roques de Garcia (Hard)
1. Teide Normal Route (One Way)
The normal route to the summit of Mount Teide is 9.8km in length with 1300m of ascent (one way) The trail starts underneath Montana Blanca where you can park in a nearby car park, The track is a small dirt road in which the mountain rangers use, it is easy to navigate and not too steep. This track goes on for 4.6km and climbs 400m until you reach the steep path to the summit of Teide to your right and the peak of Montana Blanca a short walk to your left.

From this point the path narrows significantly, the terrain changes into volcanic rock and the gradient steepens. The path is still clear and straight forward. This part of the ascent does not change until at the ski lift. From the start of this steep ascent after 2.4km and 510m ascent you will reach a mountain hut in which you can rest, if you want to sleep it is first come first serve for the beds there is no payment needed.

From the hut it is then an extra 1.25km and 300m to the plateau where you will follow the path around to the ski lift. From here it is approximetly 200m to the summit of Teide with rocky and steep terrain to the summit. To get back down you can choose to get the skit lift of simply go back the way you came.
2. Ehrwalder Alp and Gatterl (One Way)
The route to the summit of Mount Teide via Los Roques de Garcia is longer, has more ascent and is quieter than the normal route. Overall this route is harder to navigate to the summit aswell.

This route starts from the hotel where you can park then passes Los Roques de Garcia and heads straight towards the left hand side of Teide. The start of the trail is very gradual and consistent in ascent with the last section becoming steep as you get to the summit of Pico Viejo 3134m. From the start point to the smaller summit it is 6.7km and 890m of ascent.

From this point you turn right to head to the summit of Teide. It is only 3.5km to the summit of Teide from this point with 600m of ascent making this last section of the walk steeper. The path is fairly clear still at the beginning of this section however does become more unclear the further up you get until reaching the ski lift. On a clear day you should have the summit in sight and the path is fairy straight to the summit so should not be a problem navigating however on a bad day if the summit is not in view it can be tricky to navigate. Once at the ski lift it is only 200m to the summit and then 200m back down to the ski lift. To get down you can follow the same way back down or get the ski lift down.
